Privacy Policy
What this site records, why, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Scope
This policy covers the website at buycloudservices.com. It explains what information the site records, why, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do about it.
This site is an editorial library. It does not sell products, it has no customer accounts, no shopping basket in use, and no payment processing. There is therefore no order history, billing record or payment data of any kind associated with you.
What the site records
Server logs
Like every web server, our host records a log entry for each request. These entries typically contain your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser’s user agent string and the referring page. They are used to keep the site available and to investigate abuse, errors and attacks. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
Cookie and consent preferences
The site uses a consent banner to record your cookie choices. Your preference is stored so you are not asked again on every page. Cookies that are not strictly necessary are not set unless you consent to them.
Messages you send us
If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject and message you enter are emailed to the site operator so that we can reply. That is the only purpose they are used for. We do not add contact form senders to a mailing list.
What the site does not do
- No third-party advertising network is present, and no advertising profile is built.
- No third-party analytics or visitor-tracking service is currently installed.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.
- We do not ask for, and have no use for, financial details or identity documents.
Why we are allowed to do this
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our lawful bases are:
- Legitimate interests for server logs, to keep the site secure and working.
- Consent for any cookie that is not strictly necessary. You can withdraw it at any time through the cookie settings.
- Legitimate interests for replying to a message you chose to send us.
How long information is kept
Server logs are retained for the period set by our hosting provider, which is a limited rolling window rather than indefinitely. Consent preferences last until they expire or you clear them. Contact form emails are kept as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up, and are then deleted.
Who else is involved
Two categories of third party necessarily handle data on our behalf: the hosting provider that operates the server and writes the logs, and the mail service that delivers contact form messages. Neither is permitted to use the data for its own purposes.
Pages on this site link to cloud providers’ own websites. Once you follow such a link you are on their property and their privacy policy applies, not ours. We have no visibility of what you do there.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Because this site holds very little about any individual, in most cases the answer to an access request is a short one.
To make a request, or to complain about how we have handled your information, use the contact page. If you are in the UK or the EU and you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
This site is aimed at developers and businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date below. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the page.
About this document
This policy describes how the website itself handles information. It is not legal advice, and it does not yet name the legal entity that operates the site or a jurisdiction for disputes. Those details must be added by the site owner before the site is promoted publicly.
